What’s it All About?

| August 26th, 2013

Festivals are full of food, fun, and lots of entertainment. But what’s the purpose of a festival? The Taste of Hamburg-er Festival is hosted and organized annually by the Our Town Foundation, Hamburg’s Community Revitalization Corporation, a 501-C3 organization.  The festival is run every year as a way to fulfill our mission “to preserve and revitalize downtown Historic Hamburg for our families and future generations to enjoy”.

our town foundation

We know that the local residents consider this event to be an annual homecoming, bringing friends and families together.  In addition, the festival’s existence brings revenue into downtown businesses, helping to keep our mom and pop shops open and thriving. Many business owners in the downtown area rave that this festival day is annually their best day of sales for the year. Numerous non-profit organizations participate on an annual basis by providing activities for the festival guests, or by selling burgers, cotton candy, drinks and other foods as a fundraiser so they can continue to support our community year after year.

Our Town Foundation is proud to present a family fun festival that offers free admission and is affordable for all to attend, but to do this we rely on sponsorships and donations from businesses and residents. Donations are absolutely necessary to cover the annual expenses of the festival which average around $30,000 a year. If you enjoy attending our festival, please consider placing a few dollars or your loose change into our festival donation buckets ALL DONATIONS ARE GREATLY APPRECIATED!

Donation Bucket locations:

-the Hospitality Tent at 335 State Street

-the People’s Choice Award Voting Booths located at the corner of 4th & Pine Streets and 3rd & State Streets

More than anything, we thank you for attending our festival, enjoying the delicious burgers and food, and patronizing our local businesses. We hope you’ll return year after year to our festival and to our town.

We’ve got the beef at the Hamburg-er Festival!

| August 29th, 2012

Okay, so we like to throw a little humor into things, but when it comes to the beef: we’re pretty serious. In fact, 30 different burger stands will be at the Taste of Hamburg-er Festival this Saturday, with 144 vendors total.

Be sure to cast you vote for the People’s Choice Awards, helping us choose the best burger as selected by event attendees. You can rate as many burgers as you like on your ballot, though we’re not sure how many you can fit in your belly in one day! One thing’s for sure, we’ll have PLENTY of choices available. Visit our “features” tab and click on “burger stands” for a sneak preview of the available burger menus. You won’t find a better selection anywhere.
